CHITTAGONG: Former Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury has been hospitalized again in a critical condition days after his short recovery from heart and kidney related diseases.

The veteran politician is admitted to a private Max hospital in Chittagong’s Mehedibag on Thursday (Dec 14).

Max hospital managing director Dr. Liakat Ali Khantold Banglanews that Mohiuddin’s physical condition is critical because it is unstable and his complete recovery can’t be guaranteed this time. 

Mohiuddin’s elder son and also AL organizing secretary Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury confirmed the matter through a facebook post. He also urged everyone to keep the former mayor in their prayers.

When asked, Mohiuddin’s personal secretary Osman Goni told Banglanews that he was taken to hospital in the morning for regular dialysis and doctors asked to keep him in the hospital as his condition deteriorated. 

Earlier on Nov 11, Mohiuddin Chowdhury was admitted to Chittagong’s Max hospital and later airlifted to Square Hospital in Dhaka after he fell sick from heart and kidney related diseases.

On Nov 16, he was taken to a Singapore hospital for better treatment and returned to country safely on Nov 26. He was then admitted to Square Hospital again and went home on Dec 14.
