DHAKA: Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CCTC) unit, in a drive, detained three people including a founding member of Neo-JMB, an offshoot of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

The Neo-JMB member was identified as Abdus Samad alias Arif Mamu alias Ashiq.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman told Banglanews that the CTTC unit conducted a drive in Mohakhali area of Dhaka and nabbed the three, on Wednesday night (December 13).

A pistol, five rounds of bullet and 200 detonators were recovered from their possession.

Details will be informed at a press briefing later, he added.
