Tight security in Dhaka ahead of Christmas Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in a meeting with law enforcing agencies

DHAKA: Tight security measures are being taken in churches of Dhaka city on occasion of Christmas Day-the biggest religious festival of Christian community. 

Around five thousand members of the law enforcing agencies will be deployed in the 75 churches of Dhaka City. Besides, Ansar and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members will remain prepared as well.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told reporters after holding a meeting with the senior law enforcers and Christian community leaders at the Ministry office on Wednesday noon (December 13).  

Aside from the churches of the Dhaka, security measures will be strengthened in diplomatic zones, hotels and other important buildings from December 24-25.

Dhaka Metropolitan of Police (DMP) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will work separately to control Eve teaser and drug addicts.

The big churches will come under surveillance of CCTV and archway.
