DHAKA: The High Court on Wednesday (Dec 13) directed the educational institutions to refund students the additional fees taken for SSC, HSC and equivalent exams within 30 days.
According to the HC order, the managing committees and governing body of the educational institutes will be suspended if they do not refund the additional fees within the given time.
A High Court bench of Justices Kazi Rezaul Haque and Mohammad Ullah passed the order.
Dhaka Education Board lawyer Md Mizanur Rahman told Banglanews that the court also directed the authorities concerned to issue a cautionary notice in this connection.
Earlier, the High Court summoned several schools authorities of Dhaka, on allegation of collecting additional amount of money as fee for the exam form fill-up.
The HC also ordered to stop the illegal toll, taking into cognizance a newspaper report published on November 10, 2017, regarding this.
