DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Bangladesh is continuing diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing Rohingya crisis.
She said this while replying to a question of MP of Khulna-2 constituency Mohammad Mizanur Rahman in the Parliament on Wednesday (November 22).
She told the Parliament that Bangladesh has emphasized on bilateral talks to resolve the issue. Bangladesh has been successful in garnering the international community’s support for safe return of the Rohingyas, she said.
“We have sheltered the Rohingya refugees on humanitarian grounds. For this, the world leaders are praising us. Our diplomatic efforts are ongoing to resolve the crisis through bilateral talks,” she told parliament.
She said that Bangladesh has already handed over a draft of a deal to repatriate the refugees. The issue is now being discussed.
