PIROJPUR: At least two people, including a child, were killed in separate road accidents in Pirojpur on Monday (November 20).

The deceased were identified as Mitu, 3, daughter of Sumon Sheikh of Pirojpur Sadar upazila, and Nazmul Sheikh, 20, of Nazirpur Upazila in the district.

Police sources said that Mitu was crushed by a tractor at 8:00 am while she was crossing the road. Locals took her to a local hospital, but doctors declared her dead.

Meanwhile, Nazmul was also crushed under the wheel of the bus he just got off at Gonokpara area under Sikdar Mollik union at around 10:00 am.

Locals rushed him to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Pirojpur police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mrinal said that the tractor was seized.
