JESSORE: Miscreants slaughtered a day laborer in Manirampur upazila of Jessore early Saturday (November 18).

The deceased was identified as Akbar Ali, 55, a resident of Krishnabati village under Khedapara union of Jessore.

Khedapara Police Investigation Center In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Ainuddin told Banglanews that the miscreants fled away after slaughtering Akbar with sharp weapons, at around 4:30am.

Akbar, a day laborer in profession, was sleeping at his residence.

The body will be sent to Jessore 250-bed General hospital for an autopsy.

SI Ainuddin further said that the deceased was known as an innocent person to the locals.

However, police is trying to nab the killers upon investigation, added the SI.
