DHAKA: Police on Wednesday night (November 15) arrested an accused in a case filed over killing Nasim, a private university student in Dhaka who was killed in a dispute over gambling upon Bangladesh premier League (BPL).
The arrestee couldn’t be identified immediately.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media & Public Relations Department Deputy Commissioner M Masudur Rahman told Banglanews that details will be informed at a press briefing later on Wednesday.
Nasim, 24, a 3rd year BBA student at Manarat International University (MIU), was stabbed to death in front of his residence in Post Office area of Badda, following a dispute ensued over gambling upon BPL cricket, on November 6.
The ill-fated youth tied his knot mere nine months ago.
However, the deceased’s father filed a case with Badda Police Station accusing Asif Shikder, 21, Rajman Ali, 38, Abdur Rashid, 50, and unnamed 3-4 others.
