DHAKA: Customs intelligence arrested two outgoing passengers along with a huge amount of foreign currencies worth Tk38,08,180 at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka Saturday (November 4).

The arrestees were identified as Abu Bakar Siddiq and Ali Azam.

Customs intelligence and investigation department director general Dr Moinul Khan told Banglanews that the foreign currency include Euro and Malaysian Ringgit.

The law enforcers nabbed the duo from the airlines check-in counter while they were intending to board on a MH flight of Dhaka-Malaysia route, for possessing the foreign currencies.

It was known in primary investigation that the duo were intending to smuggle the currencies. 

They were arrested under Customs and Money Laundering Prevention Acts.
