CHANDPUR: A 16-year-old adolescent boy was beaten to death on charge of stealing a mobile phone memory card of a neighboring man in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur.

The deceased was identified as Faisal Hossain, son of Muslim Gazi in Chirka Chandpur village under Gobindapur Uttar union in Faridganj.

Some businessman from Nayahat Bazar in Faridganj told Banglanews that one Russel, a neighbor of Faisal, accused him of stealing the memory card of his phone.

They engaged in a scuffle, on the evening of Tuesday (October 31).

At one stage, Russel beat him up mercilessly, leaving him senseless.

Faisal was rescued and rushed to the upazila heath complex where physicians pronounced him dead, said the businessman. 

Faridganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) M Shah Alam told Banglanews that they are trying to detain the accused over the incident.
