Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal reached Myanmar on Monday afternoon (Oct 23) to hold talks with the Myanmar government on Rohingya issue.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Home minister and 12-member delegation left Dhaka for Myanmar at noon. Myanmar’s Deputy Home Minister Major General Aung Soe welcomed the Bangladeshi delegation.

The delegation includes Secretaries of the two departments of Ministry, BGB chief, Director General of the Department of Narcotics Control, Police Chief, Coast Guard Chief and Director General of Foreign Ministry.

The Home Minister will hold meetings with the senior officials of Myanmar government and security forces on Tuesday (Oct 23). 

The repatriation of displaced Rohingyas, Drug smuggling and other regional security issues will be discussed in the meetings. 

The Home Minister is expected to return home on Oct 25.
