DHAKA: Jordan’s Queen Rania Al-Abdullah is expected to visit Bangladesh, to inspect the situation of Myanmar’s Rohingyas sheltered at the Cox’s Bazar refugee camps.
She is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka by a special flight on October 23, said a press release issued by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) on Friday (Oct 20).
Later, she will fly to Cox’s Bazar.
Earlier, Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan came to Bangladesh on September 7 and visited the Rohingyas in Kutupalong refugee camps.
However, more than 5 lakhs of Rohingyas entered Bangladesh after fleeing the barbaric violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state following an upsurge on August 25 this year.
