CHITTAGONG: The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal 3 as a low has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal.
Meteorologist Farid Ahmed of Patenga Met office told Banglanews that low has turned into depression. As a result, heavy rainfall is likely in Chittagong on Friday and Saturday.
Due to low pressure, wind speed increases up to 45-50 kph. Therefore, sea is volatile.
Chittagong has been asked to hoist local cautionary signal No 3. All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to “come closer to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice”.
