Banana trader stabbed to death in Rajbari

RAJBARI: A banana trader was stabbed to death at Laksmipur village of Rajbari district sadar on Wednesday night (October 18).

The deceased, identified as Zillur Rahman Sheikh, 37, son of Joynal Abedin, was from the same area. 
 
Ruby Begum, the deceased’s wife, told Banglanews that her husband got a phone call at around 8:00pm, and left home, but never returned.

She tried phoning her husband all night, but phone calls were not picked up.

On Thursday morning (October 19), a neighbor -Siraj-spotted Zillur’s body left in a vegetable field, and reported his family.       

Joynal Abedin, father of the deceased, told Banglanews that his son used to borrow money on interest to run business.  

Prima facie, he was killed due to some kind of quarrel with the money lenders who gave money on interest.
 
Rajbari Khankhanapur Police Investigation Center Inspector Abul Kalam Bhuiyan told Banglanews that Zillur was stabbed with sharp weapons.

On report, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital Morgue for post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating the murder, the inspector added.
