DHAKA: A total of 135 Bangladeshi nationals were detained in Saudi Arabia in the last three days, foreign ministry sources said.
According to sources, they were detained from Oct 16-18 for leaving the companies they were initially appointed to work in Dammam city.
The detainees had been doing supply works for different companies which is considered as crime in Saudi’s labor law.
However, the ministry could not confirm what types of actions the detainees will face but it might include deportation.
The recent move by the government of Saudi Arabia is part of a routine operation conducted every year to detain illegal immigrants.
