AGARTALA: The Inspector General of Tripura Frontiers of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha said a friendly, calm and pleasant atmosphere is prevailing along the Bangladesh-India border.
He made the assertion in a press conference held at the headquarters of BSF Tripura Frontiers in Shalbagan area of Agartala on Wednesday (October 18).
The IG said, “Looking at it from a humanitarian point of view, BSF members hardly use any firearms against the smugglers who cross the border. BSF try to advice them in a professional manner to stay away from illegal activities.”
“Tripura does not share border with Myanmar. The Rohingyas, fleeing from persecution in Myanmar, are entering Tripura through Bangladesh.”
Moreover, the crimes will reduce upon completion of barbed wire fence which is now under construction along the 856km border area, he added.
