DHAKA: Md. Nazrul Islam, the deputy press secretary of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been promoted to additional press secretary of the PM.

With this promotion, given from the president's 10 percent quota, Nazrul, an information cadre official, has been made the additional press secretary on Feb 6, said an order issued by Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (Oct 18).

According to the order, he will have to join his principal cadre job before post-retirement leave starting on December 31 in 2018.

Ihsanul Karim is currently serving as the press secretary to the Prime Minister’s office. There are three deputy press secretaries and three additional press secretaries in this department.
