DHAKA: Registrar of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court Md. Zakir Hossain has become Acting Registrar General at the apex court.

The Law and Justice Division of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday (October 17).

Earlier in a sudden move on Sunday (October 15), Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam and nine other officials of the Supreme Court’s Appellate and High Court divisions, were transferred.  

Syed Aminul Islam was made chairman of Bangladesh Minimum Wage Board, High Court Division Registrar Abu Syed Diljar Hussain was transferred as Special Judge of Dhaka Court No 3, Appellate Division Additional Registrar Arunava Chakraborty as additional district judge of Satkhira, High Court Division Additional Registrar (Administration and Judiciary) Md Sabbir Faiz as additional district judge of Lalmonirhat.

On June 14 in 2015, Syed Aminul Islam was appointed as the first Registrar General at the SC.
