KUSHTIA: A woman allegedly committed suicide after killing her four-year-old son at Bahalbaria village in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia on Monday noon (Oct 16).

The deceased were identified as Hena Begum, wife of one Abdul karim and their son Hasibul, 4.

Abdul’s cousin Saidur Rahman told Banglanews that Abdul has been quarrelling with his wife Hena in the past few days over an alleged extra marital affair she was having with a neighboring man. 

On Monday morning, the couple had a heated fight and Abdul left home for selling milk in a local market. Later Hena committed suicide by hanging after strangling her son to death, he added.

Mirpur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam told Banglanews that, on information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for performing autopsy. Initially it is being suspected that she committed suicide after killing son.
