Security guard killed, 4 motorbikes robbed in Chandpur

CHANDPUR: Some unidentified miscreants hacked a security guard to death and snatched four motorcycles from the garage of a house in Truck Road of Chandpur town in the wee hours of Monday (Oct 16).

The deceased was identified as Delwar Pradhania, 50, hailed from Munshirhat Dakshin Dighaldi village of Matlab municipal of Chandpur district.

He had been working as a security guard of the ninth-storey building (Ayesha Garden) for one year.

Chandpur Model Thana Police recovered his body and sent it to Chandpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy in the morning.

One of the flat owners of Ayesha Garden, Saiful Islam, told Banglanews that he discovered the body lying in a pool of blood inside the guard’s room next to the gate in the morning.

Chandpur Model Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamruzzaman said there was no close circuit camera in the house and there is an open space to enter in the house next to the main gate. Miscreants probably went inside through there and snatched four motorbikes after killing the guard. However, there are three motorcycles, one microbus and two private cars remained untouched in the garage.

Chandpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Shamsunnar said the matter is being investigated. Detective police will also join the investigation.
