JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: A student of Accounting and Information System (AIS) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) was found hanged in a student dormitory of the varsity Thursday night (October 12).

He was identified as Md Adnan, a student of 41st batch at AIS Department. 

Witnesses said that Md Zunaid, a student from the same department, found Adnan hanged at room-450, block-b of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall at around 09:30 in the night.

Zunaid went there to collect some lesson sheets, but saw the room locked from inside.

He found Adnan hanging, peeping through the window, added the students. 

Adnan was rushed to the medical centre of the varsity.

Later, he was taken to Enam Medical College & Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Hailed from Manikganj district, Adnan used to live with his family in Dhaka’s Jatrabari, said his friends.

Reason behind his quitting the life couldn’t be known immediately.

JU Proctor Professor Tapan Kumar Saha told Banglanews that they are enquiring why Adnan has committed suicide. 

His body was kept at the university medical centre, said the proctor.
