DHAKA: With a vow to ease communication for Rohingyas, the government has decided to cover the refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar under Teletalk 2G networking system within next three days.

State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim said that the state-owned mobile operating body Teletalk will install booths at the Rohingya camps soon, to facilitate communication with an affordable cost among the displaced people.

Tarana Halim was addressing a meeting arranged upon mobile SIM card sales among the Rohingyas, held at Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC) office in Dhaka Saturday (September 23).

Initially, the refugees will be able to make only local calls using the network.

The state minister is supposed to visit the work soon.

However, the people who have provided registered SIMs to the Rohingyas earlier, should face punishment, said Tarana.
