GAZIPUR: A sexagenarian man was killed as a train hit him in Dhaka-Tongi rail line in Tongi township area of Gazipur Friday night (September 22).

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

He was dressed in Panjabi and Lungi.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Saiful Islam of Tongi Railway Police Outpost told Banglanews that a train hit the old man at around 8:00pm while he was walking along the rail-track near Tongi railway station, leaving him dead on the spot.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, the SI added.
