CHANDPUR: A housewife was strangled to death allegedly by her husband at Haziganj upazila in Chandpur in the midnight on Thursday (September 21).

Police recovered the body of the deceased floating at a pond in the morning on Friday (September 22).
 
The deceased was identified as Shahida Begum Mukta, 36, wife of Islam Sarder of Sardar Bari at Syedpur village under Kalchou Dakshin union of the upazila. She was mother of three child daughters.

The housewife’s body, however, was recovered from Majumder Bari of the same village.   

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Haziganj police station Jebedul Islam confirmed the matter to the Banglanews. He said that they are trying to detain the husband.
