NEW YORK (US): United States President Donald Trump said that he will stand beside Bangladesh regarding the growing tension triggered by the Rohingya conflicts.
The US President assured this while he was exchanging greetings with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in a high-level meeting on reformation of United Nations, at UN Headquarters in New York Monday morning (September 18), local time.
Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Secretary Md. Shahidul Haque later briefed reporters at Hotel Grand Hyatt.
“We stand beside you on Myanmar issue. We will look after the matter as how it can be solved”, Trump told Sheikh Hasina as quoted by Shahidul.
However, the world leaders are staying at Hotel Grand Hyatt, ahead of the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to address the UNGA Thursday (September 21).
