DHAKA: Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq, who is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, has shown signs of improvement as he breathed on his own after taking off ventilator.

Mayor’s personal secretary AKM Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Monday afternoon (Sep 11).

He said the mayor is recovering well after doctors removed his ventilation system on Saturday (Sep 9) and he is breathing on his own since. Family members confirmed that he has even made eye contact with doctors.

The DNCC mayor has been suffering from neurological problem (dizziness and lack of balance) for the last several months. He was admitted to a neurology hospital in London on August 13 before being diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis.

Earlier on July 29, Annisul Huq, along with family members, went to London for routine medical chek-up.
