DHAKA: The High Court has granted four-week anticipatory bail to the three owners of Apan Jewellers, Gulzar Ahmed, Dildar Ahmed Selim and Azad Ahmed, in five cases filed by Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID).

An HC bench comprising Justices Obaidul Hasan and Krishna Debnath granted the bail on Tuesday (Aug 22).

Defendants’ lawyer AM Amin Uddin confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Customs officials have raided in five outlets of Apan Jewelers and seized around 15.5 monds of illegal gold, diamond and cash after Banani rape allegation against Apan Jewellers’ owner Dildar Ahmed’s son came to light. 

Later on Aug 12, CIID filed five cases accusing three brothers and owners of Apan Jewellers, Gulzar Ahmed, Dildar Ahmed Selim and Azad Ahmed under Money Laundering Prevention Act.
