2 bodies recovered in city

DHAKA: Police recovered the bodies of two persons who reportedly committed suicide in tow separate areas in the city on Tuesday (August 22).

The deceased were identified as Shukkur Ali, 40, hailed from Kamargoan village under Srinagar upazila in Munshiganj, and Ratna Akhter, 25, daughter of Joynal Ali of Dhalbhanga village under Bhurunghamari upazila in Kurigram.

Shukkur Ali along with his wife and two daughters used to live in a rented residence at Mirpur area in the city.

On the other hand, Ratna along with her husband Sohel Rana was living at a residence at Bhatara area in the city. Ratna has a one year old child named Rafi.   

Police recovered the bodies in the morning and sent the bodies to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Sub-inspector of Mirpur police station Subrata Kumar told Banglanews that the body of Shukkur Ali was found hanging from a rod at his residence.  

Sub-inspector of Bhatara police station Shamim Hasan Mollah told Banglanews that the body of Ratna was recovered from the Kurmitola General Hospital.   

Ratna fell sick after she consumed the medicine of bedbug killer on Monday night (August 21). She was rushed to the hospital and died there later.
