DHAKA: Huge crowd was marked in total 23 queues to buy train tickets at Kamalapur railway station on Tuesday (August 22), the last day for buying tickets for Eid ul-Azha.
 
Advance tickets of 31 inter-city trains scheduled for August 31 are being sold from Tuesday, from 08:00am onwards.
 
Station Manager Sitangshu Chakraborty of Kamalapur Railway Station told Banglanews that they are set to sell 26 thousands of train tickets all day long.

Besides, along with regular trains, a total of 50,000 tickets are supposed to be sold, the station manager added.

Of the total tickets, 65% are being sold from counters while 25% in online & mobile phone, 5% allocated for VIPs and, the rest 5% for railway staff, said sources from the station.

Bangladesh Railway (BR) is set to carry around 2,65,000 passengers on their coaches each of the days on occasion of eid.

Seven pairs of special train will run on Dhaka to Dewanganj, Rajshahi, Parbatipur and Chittagong to Chandpur routes on August 29-September and September 3-9.  

Two special trains will run on Bhairab Bazar and Mymensingh to Kishoreganj to ease communication with Sholakia Eidgah Maidan.
