NATORE: The overall flood situation worsened further in Natore, causing immense sufferings for many people.

At least 59 educational institutions were shut down at Singra upazila in the district due to the flood. Among the institutions, 35 are primary schools and 24 others are secondary schools, colleges and madrashas.  

Many areas at Singra and other upazilas of the district were submerged by the floodwater on Sunday (August 20) due to the rise of water level in the Atrai and other rivers.

The Atrai was flowing over 90 cm above the danger level in Natore.

Many shelter centers were opened in different parts of the district for the flood-hit people.
