PATUAKHALI: Two children, who are brother and sister, died after they drowned in a pond at Galachipa upazila in Patuakhali on Saturday (August 19).

The tragic incident took place at Lamna village at the upazila in the morning.

The victims are five-year old child girl Maria, and her two-year old brother Abu Bakar Siddique. They had used to live in their grandfather’s home at Lamna village with their mother Khadiza Begum.  

The brother and the sister were playing on the bank of the pond, which locates in front of the house. At one stage, they fell down in the pond and went under water.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Galachipa police station Md. Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.
