CHITTAGONG: At least two people were killed and six others were injured as a private car rammed into an easy bike in Cox’s Bazar city on Saturday (August 19).
The deceased were identified as Shah Alom, 50, son of late Ahmad Miah of Moizzartek Chorpathorghata area of Potiya upazila in Chittagong, and Abdus Salam, 55, son of Mona Miah of Kushumpara of the same upazila.
However, the injured are Jahangir Alam, 40, Harun Or Rashid, 30, Helal Uddin, 35, Md. Alamgir, 36, Md. Saber 33, and Tomtom driver Jasim.
All the casualties came to Cox's Bazar to participate in Workers of Transport Union elections.
Cox's Bazar Traffic Police Inspector Kamruzzaman told Banglanews that the injured were sent to hospital and the two alleged vehicles were seized from hotel Shoibal area at around 8:00 am.
Resident Medical Officer Shahin Abdur Rahmar Chowdhury of Sadar Hospital told Banglanews that of the injured, two died before reaching hospital, and six of them were being treated at hospital.
