Freedom fighter succumbs to stab injuries in Magura

MAGURA: A freedom fighter succumbed to his injuries on early Saturday (August 19) after rivals attacked him following previous enmity in Sreepur upazila of Magura.

The deceased was identified as Wajed Biswas, 67.

Taju Ahmed, son of Wajed, told Banglanews that Rayhan Biswas, Kawsar Biswas and his accomplices from the same village attacked his father with sticks and sharp weapons following a dispute over land at Nobogram village under Sreepur upazila, on Wednesday evening (August 16). 

He was rushed to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex.

Afterwards, he was transferred to Magura Sadar Hospital at around 12:00am as his condition was deteriorating. 

Later, he succumbed to his injuries at around 01:00am at the hospital.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rezaul Islam of Sreepur Police Station told Banglanews that a case was filed in this connection.
 
Meanwhile, Rayhan Biswas and Kawsar Biswas were arrested over the incident, the OC said.

The body was kept in Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, added the OC.
