DHAKA: Another attack attempt was carried out on Ganajagaran Mancha spokesman Imran H Sarker and his supporters in city’s Shahbagh area on Friday afternoon (Aug 18) a day after he had been attacked by alleged BCL men. 

A group of miscreants launched the attack on Imran while he was participating in protest in front of the National Museum, in same fashion they were attacked on Thursday.

Imran said Friday’s demonstration was staged to protest Thursday’s attack. But police barred them to hold demo in there and they came under attack again while leaving the place in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

He also alleged the miscreants were carrying sticks in their hands and they also hurled brickbats on Imran and his followers.

However, none was hurt in the attack. Earlier, Imran filed a case with Shahbagh police station in connection with Thursday’s attack.

Shahbagh police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Hasan told Banglanews that the matter is being investigated.
