GAZIPUR: A Sub-inspector (SI) of police was killed in a road accident as he fell from a moving motorcycle at Benupur in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur on Friday morning (Aug 18).

The deceased was identified as Dabiruddin, 45, an SI of Kaliakair police station.

Kaliakair police inspector (investigation) Masud Alam told Banglanews that the accident happened on Benupur-Baliadi road as SI Dabir fell off while riding his on own motorbike to investigate a case. Locals rushed him to Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex where on-duty physician declared him dead.

Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex's emergency department doctor Shamsul Huda told Banglanews that the SI was brought to the hospital as dead. It is initially thought that he had died of heart attack.

On information, police recovered his body and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tazuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue.
