DHAKA: A female cleaner of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) was killed in road crash as a pickup-van rammed him in Uttara area of Dhaka on Friday morning (Aug 18).

The deceased was identified as Hayatunnissa, 45, wife of one Zayed Ali from Babukhali village of Katwali thana in Mymensingh.

Rafiqul Islam, a DNCC official, told Banglanews that the accident happened as she was cleaning on Jasimuddin Road in Uttara section-1 area around 8:00am while the pickup hit him leaving him critically injured.

She was rushed to Agargaon Neuroscience Institute and Hospital at first and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a deteriorated condition later where she succumbed to injuries around 11:00am, he added.

On information, deceased’s daughter Farida Akhter reached to DMCH. 

DMCH police outpost in-charge (SI) Bacchu Mia said the body is being kept at hospital morgue.
