DHAKA: Thousands of ticket-seekers thronged Kamalapur Railway Station from early Friday (August 18) as advance ticket sale ahead of Eid-ul Azha has started there. 

Beginning from August 18, the sale will continue till August 22.

Besides, selling of return tickets will continue on August 25-29.

While visiting on Friday, 23 counters were found selling tickets whereas two of them were reserved for females passengers. 

Station sources said that tickets for August 27 are available on Friday whereas tickets for August 28, 29, 30 and 31 will be open for sale on August 19, 20, 21 and 22 respectively.  

Bangladesh Railway (BR) is set to carry around 2,65,000 passengers on their coaches each of the days on occasion of eid.

Seven pairs of special train will run on Dhaka to Dewanganj, Rajshahi, Parbatipur and Chittagong to Chandpur routes on August 29-September and September 3-9.  

Two special trains will run on Bhairab Bazar and Mymensingh to Kishoreganj to ease communication with Sholakia Eidgah Maidan.
