DHAKA: The Saudi Arabia Embassy in Dhaka extended time to August 20 (Sunday) for receiving visa applications from the hajj pilgrims.
The time was expanded as a large number of hajj pilgrims didn’t receive visa yet due to some complications this year.
Ashkona Hajj Camp Director Saiful Islam told Banglanews that the pilgrims can submit their visa applications for Saudi Arabia till Sunday, which is the last day.
Sources said that almost 4,000 pilgrims didn’t receive visa yet.
On the other hand, Religious ministry concerned parliamentary permanent committee president Bazlul Haque claimed that total 915 hall pilgrims didn’t file applications for visa yet.
However, Biman Bangladesh Airlines so far cancelled total 24 dedicated hajj flights till Friday (August 18), due to visa complications and passenger crisis, sources said.
