DHAKA: A policeman was crushed under the wheels of a train in city’s Dakshinkhan area on Sunday afternoon (Aug 13).

The deceased was identified as Mostafijur Rahman, 27, son of one late Rafiqul Islam, hailed from Gabindaganj upazila of Gaibandha.

Mostafijur was a Constable in Armed Police Battalion (APBN-5). 

Confirming the matter to Banglanews, Kamalapur Railway police station assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Md Ali Akbar said the man was killed on the spot as a Kamalapur-bound Haor Express train hit him in Kasaibari rail crossing area of DakshinKhan. 

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy, he added.
