DINAJPUR: Two policemen were killed in a road crash as a truck rammed their motorcycle in Dinajpur sadar upazila on Thursday evening (July 27).

The deceased were identified as assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Hakimpur police station Siddiq, son of one Mohammad Ali, hailed from Dighaldanga village of Nilphamari district sadar and Constable Ashraful Alam Pradhan, 50.

Hakimpur thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdus Sabur told Banglanews that the accident took place as they were traveling on a motorcycle while a freight truck crushed them from behind leaving the ASI dead on the spot. 

Constable Ashraful was rushed to Upazila Health Complex in a critical condition where on-duty physician declared him dead on arrival. The bodies were kept in the police station, he added.
