TANGAIL: Police recovered the bodies of a couple from the septic tank of their house at Rasulpur village of Tangail sadar upazila on Thursday noon (July 27).

The deceased were identified as Anil Kumar Das, 68, teacher (Rtd) of a local Basirunnessa High School in the Upazila and his wife Kalpana Rani Das, 60.

Quoting locals, Tangail sadar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Nazmul Huq Bhuyian told Banglanews that the couple has two children. They have been living at the house by themselves as their daughter is an US expatriate and son works at Dhaka. In the morning, neighbors found the doors and windows open and informed Local Union Parishad chairman.

On information, police recovered the bodies from the septic tank and sent to Tangail sadar hospital for autopsy. The matter is being investigated, OC added.
