DHAKA: Two muggers were injured in a ‘shootout’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Etimkhana road area at Azimpur of the capital on Tuesday afternoon (July 25).

The bullet-hit muggers were identified as Md Mosharraf Hossain, 39 and Manir Hossain, 35.
 
RAB-10 major Mohiuddin told Banglanews that being tipped-off RAB team confronted a mugging gang waiting inside two private vehicles at Azimpur. Some muggers waiting inside a car escaped while muggers from another car started shooting at RAB members. Two of the muggers sustained bullet injuries after RAB members opened fire in response.”

One pistol and bullets were seized after searching the private car, he added.
