Take Muktamoni abroad for treatment if needed: PM 12-year-old Muktamoni, suffering from unknown disease, was admitted to DMCH

DHAKA: The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given directives to authorities concerned for taking Muktamoni, the minor girl suffering from an unknown disease, abroad for better treatment if necessary.

The new directive came from a meeting between the Premier and coordinator of National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute at DMCH Dr Samanta Lal Sen on Tuesday noon (July 25).

Dr Samanta told Banglanews, “I have personally met with the Prime Minister to inform her with the progress of Muktamoni’s treatment. Being briefed, she told to take Muktamoni abroad for better treatment.”

Dr Samanta also said, “after meeting with the premier, I have contacted Singapore regarding this matter. Further actions will be taken based on the response we get from there.”
Director of Prime Minister’s Office (PMo) Dr. Zulfikar Lelin told Banglanews that Sheikh Hasina is very much aware of Muktamoni’s health condition and treatment progress. She has ordered to take Muktamoni abroad if needed.
Muktamoni is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

A seven-member medical board has already been formed at the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The 12-year-old Muktamoni, hailing from Satkhira, was admitted to DMCH on Monday as she has been suffering from the “unknown” disease mainly in her right hand since her early childhood.
