Man killed in Dhaka road crash

DHAKA: A man was killed in a road crash as a human-hauler ‘Leguna’ rammed him in city’s Demra area on Tuesday noon (July 25).

The deceased was identified as Abdul Majid, 35, hailed from Nandail upazila of Mymensingh. He was a taxi-driver in profession and had been living in a rented house in Demra.

Kamal Hossain, a neighbor of the deceased, told Banglanews that Majid was critically injured after the human-hauler hit him while he was crossing a road. Later he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty physician declared him dead on arrival.

Confirming the matter, Demra police station sub-inspector (SI) Saidur Rahman said the body was kept in DMCH morgue for autopsy. Police seized the vehicle, however, the driver managed to escape.
