GOPALGANJ: A man was stabbed to death for protesting assault of his daughter in Gopalganj town Sunday night (July 23).

The deceased was identified as Kazi Mahbub, 50, a resident of Public Hall road in the town.

On July 15, Mahbub was stabbed by a group of terrorists with sharp weapons as he protested one Akash, who used to abuse his daughter--an eighth-grader at Binapani Government Girls' High School.

However, he was taken by some locals to Gopalganj General Hospital in critically injured condition.

Later, he was transferred to Khulna Medical College Hospital as his condition was deteriorating.

He died at the hospital while undergoing treatment on Sunday night.

Gopalganj sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) told Banglanews that no one had complained to police station yet.

The autopsy would be done on Monday (July 24), after the body was brought to Gopalganj, the OC said.

Police are trying to nab the suspects, the OC added.
