Death-row convict dies in Kashimpur prison

GAZIPUR: An inmate of the Kashimpur High Security Prison in Gazipur also a death-row convict died on Sunday (23).

The deceased was identified as Ramjan alias Mokbul, 55, son of late Ohed Ali from Jhinu Market area of Tongi in Gazipur. 
 
Superintendent of the jail Mizanur Rahman told Banglanews that Ramjan suddenly fell ill on Sunday night.

He was rushed to the prison hospital.

Later, he was moved to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital as his condition was deteriorating.

However, he was declared dead by the on-duty physicians at the hospital on arrival.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Following necessary procedure, the body will be handed over to the deceased's family, said the jail super.
