Sylhet tops HSC pass rate, number of GPA-5 falls

SYLHET: Sylhet Board has secured the highest position among eight general educational boards of the country with 72 percent pass rate in the HSC examinations this year. 

However, only 700 students achieved GPA 5 among the 46,797 students that have passed the HSC examination which is the highest among other educational boards..

A total of 65,000 students from 266 educational institutions have sat down for HSC examination in Sylhet this year. 

The pass rate of Rajshahi Board is 71.30 percent, 70.28 percent in Barisal, 70.02 percent in Jessore, 69.74 percent in Dhaka, 65.44 in Dinajpur, 61.09 percent in Chittagong and 49.52 percent in Comilla Board.

The average pass percentage of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations is 68.91 percent.

A total of 37,726 students scored GPA 5 among around 1.16 million appeared in the exams. From eight general education boards 66.84pc have passed, while from madrasa 77.20pc and from technical board 81.33pc.
