DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday (July 20) congratulated the newly elected President of India Ram Nath Kovind. 

President and Prime Minister conveyed the greetings in separate messages after Kovind won the election and elected as the 14th President of India.

President’s press wing and Prime minister’s deputy-press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia in a seperate message also congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on his big win in the Indian presidential elections, said BNP chief’s press wing official Shayrul Kabir Khan.

Ram Nath Kovind has won the Indian presidential election after securing over two-thirds of the total electoral college votes. Kovind will be sworn-in as President of India on July 25.
