DHAKA: A girl rescued from a city hotel on July 8 in critical condition died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday.

Confirming the death, Mohammadpur thana sub-inspector (SI) Azizul Haque said the real name and identity of the woman is still unknown. Injury marks were found in her body at the time of rescue.

Azizul Haque told Banglanews that the girl was rescued in a senseless state from room no.107 of Tajin Hotel in Shyamali, after being informed by the hotel authority at the night.

The SI said that one Ashraf accompanied with the girl, both hailed from Kasba upzila of Brahmanbaria, earlier rented a room at Tajin Hotel, at around 8am Saturday.

The duo claimed themselves as husband-wife to the hotel authority.

Quoting the hotel manager, SI Azizul said that Ashraf left the hotel room saying that he will visit a doctor outside at around 12:30pm.

Later, noise of loud groaning was being heard from the room to the hotel staff.

The hotel authority then broke the door and found the girl lying blood-stained.
