2 fishermen die in Meghna River

BHOLA: Two fisherman died as a trawler capsized in the Meghna River at Lalmohan upazila in Bhola on Thursday (July 20).    

The deceased were identified as Kabir, 24, son of Md. Hossain, of Lordhardinge union, and Russell, 17, son of Fayezullah of the same area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmohan police station Humayun Kabir told Banglanews that a trawler with fourteen fishermen capsized as storm hit it at Betua Sluiz Gate area of Meghna River at around 6: 00 am.

On information, a team of police recovered the missing fishermen at around 11:00 am, the OC said.
